The French 75

When my friends Patty and Lauren came over for dinner last week, they brought the ingredients to make a cocktail. One of those ingredients--a simple syrup--spilled all over Patty's bag in transit, but let's not focus on that. Instead, let's focus on the e-mail exchange that I had with Patty yesterday about the drink that she made.

Adam

As for the drink itself, it's a great way to start a meal. Light, fizzy, and refreshing, it's a surprisingly mellow riff on other champagne-based cocktails, cocktails that are usually very sweet. This isn't very sweet at all and, if you don't want to spend the money on champagne, you can certainly use Prosecco.

So thank you, Patty, for introducing me to a new drink! I'm sorry for yelling at you.
